Vicki F. Duffy, author of No More Pain! intentionally burned her left forearm in 1993.   The picture below is what her arm looked
like a day after she burned it with a firestarter.  Underneath the burn were 17 'holes' where she jabbed lit cigarettes into her
forearm hundreds of times.  The photo was taken 2 days after she burned it.
Self-Inflicted 3rd degree burn-Surgery Required
A 3rd degree burn; 5 1/2" long and 3" wide, September of 1993.  Infection on the outer edges.  Skin graph surgery required.
Causing self-inflicted pain and injuries can have serious consequences.
